| HALLOWEEN IS A VERY DANGEROUS TIME FOR PETS. Stupid people do stupid things to pets, especially black cats, at this time of year. Please keep a close eye on your pets and keep them inside and safe! Trick or Treaters can be especially frightening for dogs and cats. Keep them secured to keep them safe - with the door opening a hundred times, it is very easy for your loved one to get out. Keep those goody bags away from your dog when the kids bring them home. CHOCOLATE CAN BE VERY TOXIC TO DOGS! Milk chocolate is not as bad as dark chocolate, but if your dog gets as little as 1/3 to 3/5 of an ounce of chocolate per pound of their weight it can kill them. IF YOUR DOG GETS IN TO CHOCOLATE, CONSIDER IT AN EMERGENCY! ANTIFREEZE is very palatable to dogs and cats and, unfortunately, DEADLY. Ethylene Glycol Antifreeze will kill your pets. Be very careful of how you store and dispose of it if you are a shade tree mechanic. Whether it is in a bucket or in a puddle in the driveway, your pet will think it smells delicious. Consumption of even a little ethylene glycol is AN EMERGENCY problem. Look for antifreezes that are made of Propylene Glycol - these are not as deadly. ALWAYS READ THE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS ON THE MANUFACTURER'S LABEL. |
